The Meadow, like the State Fair of Virginia, has a storied past. Its fields echo with the hoofbeats of great racehorses, the sounds of a working plantation and the footfalls of Native Americans who dwelled on its broad expanse as far back as 3,000 B.C.
Its history is one of reclamation and renewal. The land seems to posses deep within its fertile soil a phoenix-like spirit that enables it to rise back to glory when it has fallen.
