Owned by SFVA, Inc. a 501c3 not-for-profit organization, The Meadow Event Park is committed to offering southern hospitality to all who visit. The site is home to the State Fair of Virginia and also the original site of Meadow Farm, which was the birthplace of Secretariat. Located on 360 acres of rolling fields, the venue offers facilities for a wide variety of events, which include consumer and trade shows, equine events, festivals, private and corporate functions as well as weddings.
The Meadow, like the State Fair of Virginia, has a storied past. Its fields echo with the hoofbeats of great racehorses, the sounds of a working plantation and the footfalls of Native Americans who dwelled on its broad expanse as far back as 3,000 B.C.
Its history is one of reclamation and renewal. The land seems to posses deep within its fertile soil a phoenix-like spirit that enables it to rise back to glory when it has fallen.

From Horse Farm to Event Park
The Project
Over five years in the making, the $81 million project at The Meadow Event Park featured redevelopment of existing structures as well as construction of new facilities and infrastructure, including two new pedestrian tunnels.
New facilities include the Farm Bureau Center (63,354 sq ft exhibition hall), The Meadow Pavilion (6,984 sq ft multi-purpose facility), Union First Market Bank Hall (high-end executive conference center as well as picturesque location for fine Virginia weddings), The Rouse Horse Complex featuring the Southern States Legend Stable (143 stalls serving the equine complex) and four equine show rings. In addition, there are hundreds of acres of useable outdoor space (with infrastructure) that can meet a variety of event needs.
