(DOSWELL, January 12, 2015)—Four diverse signature events are scheduled for 2015 at The Meadow Event Park in Caroline County. Three of the events will be returning to the venue, while one brings a new twist on a former event.

The new Virginia Horse Festival will be held March 27-29 and will have something for experienced horse owners and riders, new horse owners, hobbyists, dog lovers and those with a taste for Western wear, boots and jewelry. The festival will include an Extreme Mustang Makeover competition and the statewide 4-H EquiSmartz competition. It also will include The Meadow’s annual Secretariat birthday celebration on March 28. The Virginia Horse Festival grew out of the former Virginia Equine Extravaganza. For more information, visit VirginiaHorseFestival.com.

For its second year at The Meadow, K95 CountryFest will take place on June 20. The event will offer a full day of country music and summer fun, including a cornhole tournament and a demolition derby. The Charlie Daniels Band and The Swon Brothers will be part of an energetic and diverse slate of artists. Details and advance tickets are available at K95CountryFest.com.

A longstanding Virginia tradition, the State Fair of Virginia will be held Sept. 25 through Oct. 4 and will include rides, shows, games and music, along with a continued emphasis on agriculture. The 4-H and FFA youth livestock competitions will return, as will Young MacDonald’s Farm, a full schedule of equine events and a rodeo. Details will be added to StateFairVa.org as they become available.

The Meadow will be full of twinkling lights and holiday music and fun this holiday season when Illuminate Light Show & Santa’s Village returns Nov. 13 through Jan. 2, 2016.  The drive-through light show will stretch about a mile-and-a-half and will feature LED lights synchronized to holiday music played on patrons’ car radios. Inside Santa’s Village, there will be seasonal shopping, children’s activities, photos with Santa and holiday treats. Information will be made available at IlluminateLightShow.com as it becomes available.
